We are currently fundraising for an ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenator) for Bristol Children's Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. An ECMO is used when a baby or child has a serious condition which prevents the lungs or heart from working normally, most frequently after open heart surgery. It is a supportive measure that uses an artificial lung to oxygenate the blood outside the body. Children treated with an ECMO are very seriously ill.
